I hope you are all doing well! I can’t believe summer is coming to an end and people are starting school soon! I don’t start until the beginning of September but it still feels like school is starting tomorrow 😫
What better time to lift our spirits then a #HijabiHeroes post, Summer edition 😎
Once again, thank you to all of the ladies that approached me to be a part of this, as well as the ones who agreed to participate upon asking. It really means a lot that so many people believe in the HH mission and want to see it succeed and flourish. I also appreciate them taking time out to snap an OOTD, it’s not easy, and I hope y’all see my daily struggles LOL.
If you would like to be featured in the next #HijabiHeroes post (I’m thinking Fall already mhmm), then please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message! You can just let me know that you’d like to be involved and I’ll remind you before it’s time for the post so you can send me the outfit picture, so don’t worry about that!
Okay, without further ado, #HijabiHeroes, Summer edition 💕
I’m super stressed with exams this week (3 back to back 😰), but I needed a break from a long day of studying, so thought I’d whip up a quick blogpost 😋
Before I continue on with this post, I never announced it on here, so I wanted to tell you all!
*drum roll please* The Hijab Souq launched a blog called Aspiring Muslimah and I’m one of the 11 aspiring muslimahs part of it! Hehe get it 😏 It’s a blog for fashion, lifestyle, design, and much more and I’m beyond excited and honoured to be involved! You can check out my first post here!
A while back, I realized my wardrobe was consisting more of a bit dressier items, and I never really had anything to wear for casual days. I couldn’t just throw on a t-shirt, because I didn’t really own any LOL (excluding the t-shirts I use as PJs obviously hehe)! I was on the hunt for long sleeve, long, loose fitting t-shirts at the mall, and that was predestined to be an unsuccessful mission. The 3 L’s. Long Sleeves, Long Length, and Loose Fitting. I might as well have been looking for thick chunky sweaters in the middle of Summer in the Bahamas!! Alas, at the store I least expected to satisfy my needs, I found these super cute long baseball tees from VS Pink! I was so excited, and they were on sale too! 🙊
Last weekend my family and I went on a little weekend trip to Kingston. Kingston is about 3 hours from Toronto and on the way to Ottawa and Montreal. It’s a very historic city with many important locations from Canadian history.
We went from Friday to Sunday and we just wanted to relax and see a new place. On Saturday, we did some typical sightseeing and explored Fort Henry, the Downtown area of Kingston, and near the waterfront. We had booked a Boat Cruise to see the 1000 Islands which was on Sunday early afternoon that was a 3-hour tour. It was so nice and relaxing.
The hotel we were staying at also had an indoor pool so I ended up spending a lot of time swimming and relaxing! We reached on Friday night and I went straight to the pool and I think I went swimming at least 3 times during our trip! What can I say, I have to take advantage of any opportunity I get to jump in a pool!
Here are some pictures from the trip and my outfits!
I stuck to really simple outfits for Friday and Saturday because I just wanted to be comfortable all day long. If anyone knows me, they know that I love my jean jacket to death. Hey, if you’ve seen any of my blogposts you probably could’ve figured it out too! I think jean jackets are ideal for any occasion, especially to throw over a top and be ready to go. Hence, I had to wear my jean jacket over a simple black and white grid blouse for an easy outfit. Black and white grid prints are also really ‘in’ right now and they’re so versatile because you can dress them up or down.
For the cruise on Sunday I thought I’d spice it up with a fun floral maxi dress – perfect for being on the water.
Sorry this is a shorter post! Hope you enjoy the pictures 🙂
