OOTD – Fall Casual FT. Hijab Loft

Hey lovelies!

Hope you are all doing well! Boy, what a week this has been! Busy to say the least, and I’ve been on that borderline ‘I think I’m getting sick but nothing full fledged yet but it’s been like this for like a week now’. So please pray I don’t get sick!! The weather is changing every second here so we need communal prayers for everyone not to get sick LOL.

Anyways, since the colours are changing and the leaves are falling, so it was only appropriate to post a Fall ootd! I mean we are almost at the end of October, so I think I’m late on this to be honest! Well, I’ve been posting loads of my daily outfits on Instagram, so don’t forget to check that out (self-promo ayyy).

This outfit all started off when I saw this scarf from Hijab Loft. I knew it would be perfect for the Fall and Winter time, and not just as a hijab of course! If you know me, you know I love versatility, so this hijab also makes for a great ‘blanket’ scarf to me! The quality of the fabric is very nice and the material is ideal for this type of look. I love the colours in this Marrakesh hijab from Hijab Loft – pink and grey is one of my favourite combinations for the colder seasons!

HOW TO STYLE: Fur Vests (FT. La Modesty)

Hello Hello!

I’m back with another blogpost! I know it’s been AGES. To be honest, I’ve been kinda out of the blogpost flex lately, and I didn’t want to give you content I wasn’t proud of or enthusiastic about. Also, the new islamic year began, which starts with the two months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar (read more here), so I was also holding off until the first 12 days of Muharram passed.

School is so hectic right now, I’m really feeling the pressure haha! I just finished a midterm yesterday, and I REALLY have been wanting to do this blogpost for you all, so I had to squeeze some time in. Truth be told, this blogpost was a suggestion by a good friend – Fadak! She asked for this how to style post, and I’m happy to deliver! Thanks girl for your continued support ❤️

OOTD – Abaya Season 💁🏽

Salaam everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and the fasts are also going beautifully 🙂
Sorry for not posting twice last week, I haven’t been feeling too well, so haven’t been on my game. But inshallah, I can get back to it!

Now with Ramadhan amongst us, many have labelled this month as #AbayaSeason. Abayas are all the rage, and you know what, I can’t blame anyone for sporting them more often this month. First of all, they are super modest, like the epitome of modest garb. They are also really comfortable, because you could honestly be wearing your PJ’s underneath, and no one would know! And if you are wearing a front opening abaya, then you can just wear a flowy skirt or comfy pants and be happy. All in all, this is #AbayaSeason, and I’m embracing it! 😝
Jokes aside, abayas are actually a great option and inshallah I hope to integrate them more into my wardrobe! I have been wearing abayas more lately, especially the front opening ones. Since they have a kimono-like style, they are great to wear with palazzo pants, skirts, or even jeans! I wore my Dara Boutique one to Halal Food Fest and my friend Shumaila’s bridal shower! I’ve even posted some abaya inspiration outfit pictures on my Instagram recently! You know I like to start the trends before they go mainstream 💁🏽😂

Summer Trends 2016 FT. Verona Collection

Hello there!

I hope you are all doing well! I’m back again with another blogpost! It feels really good to sit and write more often now, alhamdulilah!

I was scrolling through Instagram and noticed a lot of trends are popping up EVERYWHERE for the Summer time! There are various fashion styles and items that are really popular nowadays. Now you know I don’t like to go too mainstream, but I wanted to share my take on 4 Summer trends and ideas on how to incorporate them into your outfits! I definitely do not think we should try to just wear the trends and ‘blend in’ with the conventional and current style, but I do promote trying new things and seeing how they work with your own look!
Also, just because something is a trend, doesn’t mean you have to wear it the way ‘everyone’ does or the way it’s ‘supposed’ to be worn. Recreate your own spin on things and let your personality shine through!

The trends I want to share are 1) White on White, 2) Mini Backpacks, 3) Maxi on Maxi, and 4) Baseball hats. I think these 4 trends are my favourite for the summer and also super easy to implement and incorporate into an outfit. I have 2 outfits, displaying 2 trends each! This shows the versatility of the trends and how you can mix and match and wear them together! You do not need to have one statement outfit with a ‘trend’, just work it with your own preferences.

OOTD – Shumaila’s Bridal Shower! 💗

Hi hi!

I hope you are all doing well!

This past weekend has been a busy one! Among the many things going on, it was my good friend Shumaila’s bridal shower! Shumaila, better known as @shumidee from Instagram and Youtube, is getting married in August inshallah and her amazing bridesmaids and family threw her an awesome bridal shower on Sunday! You’ve seen her in my many #HijabiHeroes blogposts, so of course, I had to write a blogpost about her bridal shower! And you bet you’ll get a whole wedding week post when August rolls around 😅

Everyone was requested to wear black semi formal attire and the theme was black with pink and floral accents. Of course, Miss Shumaila wore all white, just like a bride! Her bridesmaids did an amazing job with the decorations, with a black wall and beautiful flowers, and there was also a sequins wall for a photobooth accompanied with some funny props. There was perfect seating and a gorgeous cake and desserts table! From the door to the decor (haha, bars), everything was so well thought out! There was decorations at the front door and pictures of Shumaila and her fiancé all over the walls, and even hanging from the ceiling!

OOTD – Ombré Attire

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all doing well!

Okay, I know, I’m a terrible person 🙊 I am SO off my game! My posting schedule is basically nonexistent because #HHSundays aren’t even a thing anymore! I’m really sorry! I started summer school last week so things have just been really busy with assignments and projects! But, to make up for it, I’m doing 2 blogposts this week. The much awaited #HH Spring post is coming, sooner rather than later inshallah! So definitely stay tuned!

Before I begin, Congratulations to you all on the Birth Anniversary of the Grandson of the Holy Prophet, Imam Hussain (AS), and the son of Imam Ali, Hazrat Abbas (AS), and then the son of Imam Hussain, Imam Zainul Abideen (AS)! I cannot believe it’s already Shabaan and these 3 holy nights are upon us!
In celebration of these blessed events, I thought I’d just share a quick outfit with you all!

I actually ordered this outfit online from Falak-E-Noor Boutique! I found them on Instagram, and unfortunately their account is down for some reason, but I was pleasantly surprised with the great service! The outfit arrived exactly how it appeared in the picture and the stitching was also really great. It fit perfectly!

Sneak Peek of Covered in Confidence Hijab Launch!

Hello everyone!

HALLELUJAH, I’M DONE EXAMS!! Alhamdulilah, I just finished my exams on Thursday and what a time to be alive! I feel amazing and so glad that my second year of university is over! Halfway there! 😱

What better way to celebrate than with a new blogpost of course?! And this one is especially special (lol) because my girl Kaniz from Covered in Confidence has just launched her own line of hijabs!! 👏🏽😍
I met Kaniz through the blogging sphere and we bonded over our Instagram accounts! Beyond that, we often talk on Whatsapp and I love how we can talk about everything and anything! Our chats are always great and it’s been so fun getting to know her! I love it when you can talk to someone about the randomest things but also about God and Islam. It just warms my heart 💗

She had told me about how she wanted to design her own hijabs and clothes, and her dream has now become a reality, alhamdulilah! I got a sneak peak of her line and it’ll be open to you all soon! So of course, I had to snap some pictures and share my outfit with you all! I will definitely update you all about when you can have one of your own but you should definitely follow Covered in Confidence on Instagram so you won’t miss the big launch!

Her hijabs are definitely more sophisticated and perfect to dress up an outfit or for evening/formal wear! I love the simple designs with a cute touch that distinguishes them from the rest. She has a variety of soft materials and jersey hijabs! I got a white jersey hijab with a zipper trim. Totally going to confess here, I’ve always always wanted a hijab with a zipper edge, so I was super excited for this one! The zippered trim is a small yet decorative touch and it’s great to spice up any outfit!
Now I normally don’t wear jersey hijabs, so it was definitely nice to try something new and different. I thought since I was wearing a new hijab, I’d try out a new style! So please let me know what you think!

OOTD – Baseball T’s and Flannels ✌🏽

Hi Hi!

I’m super stressed with exams this week (3 back to back 😰), but I needed a break from a long day of studying, so thought I’d whip up a quick blogpost 😋

Before I continue on with this post, I never announced it on here, so I wanted to tell you all!
*drum roll please*
The Hijab Souq launched a blog called Aspiring Muslimah and I’m one of the 11 aspiring muslimahs part of it! Hehe get it 😏 It’s a blog for fashion, lifestyle, design, and much more and I’m beyond excited and honoured to be involved! You can check out my first post here!

A while back, I realized my wardrobe was consisting more of a bit dressier items, and I never really had anything to wear for casual days. I couldn’t just throw on a t-shirt, because I didn’t really own any LOL (excluding the t-shirts I use as PJs obviously hehe)! I was on the hunt for long sleeve, long, loose fitting t-shirts at the mall, and that was predestined to be an unsuccessful mission. The 3 L’s. Long Sleeves, Long Length, and Loose Fitting. I might as well have been looking for thick chunky sweaters in the middle of Summer in the Bahamas!! Alas, at the store I least expected to satisfy my needs, I found these super cute long baseball tees from VS Pink! I was so excited, and they were on sale too! 🙊

OOTD – Malikah in Mint FT. eShakti

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all doing well!
Yay, School is almost done!! My last day of class is tomorrow and I’m beyond excited. Just 4 exams separate me from summer vacation! And this snowy weather 😭

This past weekend I went to a wedding, and it was the first one I attended for the 2016 wedding season! #FatsWedsDats doesn’t count, because it was 2015-2016 hehe! 😋 But speaking of #FatsWedsDats, it was her brother’s wedding, so I definitely reminisced on my #DoneDoneLondon trip! 🇬🇧

Now knowing me, you know I like to do things a little differently! The mendhi, or henna ceremony, was the first official wedding ceremony for #BilalandSamiha. As it was in the afternoon, instead of wearing an indian outfit, which is the common attire, I decided to wear this beautiful Mint/Teal dress from eShakti!

OOTD – Coins and Kicks FT. Luluwaah

Hola Canolis!

I FINALLY MADE IT FOR #HHSUNDAY. I know the past couple weeks I’ve been off my game, but ya girl is back on track.

I have SO many blogposts lined up, I’m kinda going crazy aha! It’s going to be some hectic times, but I’m excited! I also have exams coming up (eww, I know right), but let’s not worry about that too much eh 😅

I just wanted to share this quick ootd with you all! It’s a little typical, it’s a little different.

If you’ve noticed for the past couple of months, the colour grey has becoming a standard colour in my wardrobe. Grey is my new Black haha. I find that I am really attracted to grey now because it’s so easy to style! Grey matches with everything and can work for casual or formal occasions. It’s my go-to colour now.
