I’m back with another blogpost! I know it’s been AGES. To be honest, I’ve been kinda out of the blogpost flex lately, and I didn’t want to give you content I wasn’t proud of or enthusiastic about. Also, the new islamic year began, which starts with the two months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar (read more here), so I was also holding off until the first 12 days of Muharram passed.
School is so hectic right now, I’m really feeling the pressure haha! I just finished a midterm yesterday, and I REALLY have been wanting to do this blogpost for you all, so I had to squeeze some time in. Truth be told, this blogpost was a suggestion by a good friend – Fadak! She asked for this how to style post, and I’m happy to deliver! Thanks girl for your continued support ❤️

Hope you are all doing well!
Sorry for not uploading yesterday! I had a presentation this morning at 8:30 AM that was worth 20% of my grade, so decided to brush up for that 😅
I’m currently in the library writing this during my class break, so you know I survived HAHA!
I wanted to share an update on my personal fitness and my trainer, Aishah, from Grains and Gains (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go to Part 1)! But before, that I want to share one of my favourite workout outfits with you all. Hopefully, it may inspire you as well!

So I just realized I forgot to do a 2nd blogpost last week! WHOOPS! Sorry everyone! Things are just super busy as IMFDF was this past weekend, this week is a double wedding for us (two family friends, one is ShumiDee!), and then next week, I’m off to Orlando, FL! Lots and lots going on! Alhamdulilah, busy is good but I may be behind on blogposts 🙈
Like I said, IMFDF was this past weekend!! The International Modest Fashion and Design Festival (IMFDF) is a super cool event hosted annually and sponsored by the halal cosmetics company, Tuesday in Love! As always, the 2-day event features a Yacht party and a Fashion Show with a bazaar!
Of course, I had to share my experience with you all! First of all, it was so nice meeting so many of you! It’s always nice to connect faces to ‘likes’ hehe, and I’m so so SO appreciative that we got to talk and chill together! I had an amazing time!
Also, HUGE Shoutout to Taam Media for collaborating with me and sending me to IMFDF!

I hope you are all doing well! I can’t believe summer is coming to an end and people are starting school soon! I don’t start until the beginning of September but it still feels like school is starting tomorrow 😫
What better time to lift our spirits then a #HijabiHeroes post, Summer edition 😎
Once again, thank you to all of the ladies that approached me to be a part of this, as well as the ones who agreed to participate upon asking. It really means a lot that so many people believe in the HH mission and want to see it succeed and flourish. I also appreciate them taking time out to snap an OOTD, it’s not easy, and I hope y’all see my daily struggles LOL.
If you would like to be featured in the next #HijabiHeroes post (I’m thinking Fall already mhmm), then please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message! You can just let me know that you’d like to be involved and I’ll remind you before it’s time for the post so you can send me the outfit picture, so don’t worry about that!
Okay, without further ado, #HijabiHeroes, Summer edition 💕

I hope you are all doing well! Totally forgot to publish this blogpost, and hence there were no blogposts last week 😁 I KNOW I’M A FAIL, PLEASE FORGIVE ME. 😅🙈
Two weekends ago was my friend, Sakina’s wedding and I was one of her bridesmaids! Everything went really well and Sakina really pays attention to detail, which is definitely appreciated!
Being a bridesmaid, we were all #Twinsies. She picked a beautiful sari for us all and I was really excited to wear one! I’ve worn a sari before at school for CultureFest, but that doesn’t really count 😝
So this is my first real time wearing a sari, and it was quite something!
The sari was a gorgeous dark blue and light blue with golden lace panels! I got a long sleeve long blouse stitched so I’m #HH all the time hehe! For the pictures, we were all asked to wear dark blue hijabs to match the saris so that was easy.

I hope you are all doing well! Yes, back with the 2nd blogpost of the week, feels so so so good!
I’m starting new series called #HHReviews. Surprise Surprise LOL!
Sorry, I just can’t help but to organize my blogposts into series! It’s almost like organizing your files into folders on your desktop. Just helps keep you mentally sane yenno 😅. This also gives me a chance to expand in the same format and review more types of products for you all!
I’ll be starting this series with a review of many brands and types of matte lipsticks! Since wedding season is in full swing, I thought this might be helpful and would be useful if you want to diversify your lip product collection. I will be having a Part 2 to this blogpost, I didn’t want to cram everything into one, so I thought splitting it up might work better!
Honestly, I never used to wear lipsticks, just tinted lip balms, but ever since I discovered the wonders of matte lip products, I’m sold! Even MommaHH, who has tons of lipsticks, only wears matte now! So you know this is a shared collection!
I’m going to be talking about Revlon and NYX matte lip products today!

I hope you are all doing well and the fasts are also going beautifully 🙂
Sorry for not posting twice last week, I haven’t been feeling too well, so haven’t been on my game. But inshallah, I can get back to it!
Now with Ramadhan amongst us, many have labelled this month as #AbayaSeason. Abayas are all the rage, and you know what, I can’t blame anyone for sporting them more often this month. First of all, they are super modest, like the epitome of modest garb. They are also really comfortable, because you could honestly be wearing your PJ’s underneath, and no one would know! And if you are wearing a front opening abaya, then you can just wear a flowy skirt or comfy pants and be happy. All in all, this is #AbayaSeason, and I’m embracing it! 😝
Jokes aside, abayas are actually a great option and inshallah I hope to integrate them more into my wardrobe! I have been wearing abayas more lately, especially the front opening ones. Since they have a kimono-like style, they are great to wear with palazzo pants, skirts, or even jeans! I wore my Dara Boutique one to Halal Food Fest and my friend Shumaila’s bridal shower! I’ve even posted some abaya inspiration outfit pictures on my Instagram recently! You know I like to start the trends before they go mainstream 💁🏽😂

Hey Hey everyone!
Long time no talk! 😉
Sorry for being off my game, but I can finally present the long awaited #HijabiHeroes – SPRING post! I originally intended on doing this post at the end of April, but since the weather in Toronto hasn’t really felt like Spring, I thought I’d push it back a couple of weeks!
Before I begin, I want to thank you all for the continued support in these #HijabiHeroes posts and overall! Thank you to all of the lovely ladies for being a part of this post! Doing these posts just makes me so happy because I get to see so many different ways of wearing hijab and dressing modestly!
Quite a few people asked to be included in this post and I was so overjoyed! If you’d like to be featured in the next #HijabiHeroes post (Summa Summa!), please please please let me know! I don’t bite, promise 🙊 I love seeing new faces in these #HH posts, so do not hesitate!
Alrighty, here is #HijabiHeroes, Spring edition!

Yay, School is almost done!! My last day of class is tomorrow and I’m beyond excited. Just 4 exams separate me from summer vacation! And this snowy weather 😭
This past weekend I went to a wedding, and it was the first one I attended for the 2016 wedding season! #FatsWedsDats doesn’t count, because it was 2015-2016 hehe! 😋 But speaking of #FatsWedsDats, it was her brother’s wedding, so I definitely reminisced on my #DoneDoneLondon trip! 🇬🇧
Now knowing me, you know I like to do things a little differently! The mendhi, or henna ceremony, was the first official wedding ceremony for #BilalandSamiha. As it was in the afternoon, instead of wearing an indian outfit, which is the common attire, I decided to wear this beautiful Mint/Teal dress from eShakti!

Hope you’re doing well!
Finally had my last midterm and the last exam before finals! Just a little over a month until the April exam season and I’m so excited to be halfway done with my undergraduate!
Today, I have another REFLECTION post for you all. Yesterday, I attended the 2016 TedxMcMasterU conference. The theme was Metamorphosis: The Paradox of Change. I especially liked this topic because I thought it was very relevant to today’s world and life as we know it. Our surroundings are constantly changing and our mechanisms to adapt to such changes are very important.
Among the talented speakers, we actually watched two Ted Talks from past Tedx conferences. One of them was Stacey Kramer’s talk – “The Best Gift I Ever Survived”.
It’s under 3 minutes and it’s a must watch.
This video inspired me to write this post today.
