I hope you’re doing well! It’s been a while since I last wrote a fashion related post just for kicks. Seriously, it’s been ages since I’ve been on here to really share what I’M truly passionate about, other than the Zanzibar post of course! I’ve been feeling a little lost with what I want to really achieve with this space and I’m starting to recover what this blog is all about. With that being said, look forward to some new content coming your way inshallah! And as always, you can catch me on YouTube (I actually have some lookbooks up there!!!) and on Instagram (I post on the daily, you already know) *shameless self promo* hehe.
ALRIGHT, class in session. The NUMBER 1 QUESTION I get asked, and I am not exaggerating in the slightest is: How do I always have new outfits or How do I always create new outfit combinations? People think I have 896,042,135,785 articles of clothing that I sift through to come up with outfits for events and shoots. Now, as much as I wish that was true, or slightly true, it is most definitely not! I don’t go shopping 24/7. I’ve actually barely gone shopping this year, after my primark excursion in May because, well, PRIMARK. It’s actually come to a point where my Mom is *pleading* with me to buy new clothes! I know, who would have thought that day would come.
I hope you are all doing well!
So I know I didn’t have a blogpost up for #HHSunday, but I told you I’d make up for it, and here I am.
This past weekend was MIST Toronto 2016!!
Last year, I did a whole post about MIST and this year, I’m back at it again 😉
Now, in this post, you might be wondering where my outfits are?! Don’t worry, they’re coming.
But, I wanted to do my #HijabiHeroes post first! A lot of the ladies featured in this post have made a significant impact on me, whether it’s mentoring me on my new position, laughing at my jokes, or just competing in MIST and making it the awesome organization it is. I really would not have had the experience I did if it weren’t for you all. So thank you.
As the whole #HijabiHeroes series is about giving back to all those who support me, it was only fitting for this post to precede my own.
Alright, I can go on forever about why I love MIST and how amazing it is and how I just want to rewind back to Saturday morning, but I don’t want to cry….again…and again.
1) I want to apologize if I didn’t include you in this post! I had planned to take a bunch of pictures, but I underestimated how busy I would be! If you ever want to be included in one of my #HH posts, please let me know!
2) Not all of the pictures are mine – Huge shoutout to the photographers behind IFS MIST, I know there are a lot of people who contributed to the MIST albums, so thank you all for these pictures! Also thanks to @beardedbengali, a fellow MIST Dream team member for the pictures!
I hope you are all doing well! Hope you enjoyed your long weekend and Family Day (if Canadian) or President’s Day (if American), or regular old Monday (if from anywhere else LOL)!
Sorry my post is late, but had a fun family dinner last night so didn’t get around to posting!
But, HAPPY FAMILY DAY to you all! Thank you all for being my HH family and the best supporters ever 💕💕
Now I know in the Winter, it can be really tough to wear a cute outfit when all you can think about is not freezing in the -20 ºC weather (may fluctuate with windchill 😪). Or you may have a nice outfit, but it’s buried under your huge winter jacket and cannot be appreciated. Then, we end up being lazy with our style and just live in a hoodie and sweatpants (am I right) 🙋
Often in my regular blogposts, I incorporate Style Tips, which are a general rule of thumb that can be applied to everyday dressing. Hence, I thought I’d make a blogpost just for Style Tips I follow in the winter season! This blogpost idea was suggested by my girl Zahra Maryam, so thank you once again!
Like I’ve mentioned before, if you have any blogpost ideas you’d like to see on HH, please shoot me a message or leave me a comment and I will definitely try to make a blogpost about it inshallah!
I hope you are all doing well! Eid-e-Ghadeer Mubarak! Today marks the anniversary of the event of Ghadeer. On this day, after the completion of the Holy Prophet’s last Hajj, he declared to the people that his cousin and son-in-law, Imam Ali would be the successor after him. This is a monumental day in Islam and a day worth celebrating!
Unfortunately, I have night class today and instead of celebrating with family and friends at mosque, I’ll be partying it up in my Roots of Medical Terminology 3 hour lecture, ayy D:
Today I have a very special post! It just started getting cold here (and I mean like 8º C, we go 0 to 100 real quick) so this is my first official Fall post! It’s an ideal time for this post so everyone’s good to go with their outfits for the season 😉 In addition, I’m collaborating with one of my favourites for this post – The Hijab Souq! I’m so excited to feature their hijabs in my outfits! All of these outfits actually turned out so well! This may just be one of my favourite posts 😀
The Hijab Souq is a USA based business and sells hijabs and accessories that are great for all aspects of your wardrobe! Literally, they have the biggest selection of solid coloured hijabs I HAVE EVER SEEN. It’s so perfect! They also have a variety of printed hijabs and special occasion ones as well. They even have these really cute calligraphy clutches and statement necklaces! This is right up my alley!
On their website, you can find plenty of style inspiration and outfit ideas on how to style their scarves! You can also see lots of pictures of happy customers styling the scarves in their own unique way 🙂
They even offer Free Shipping to the US AND Canada for orders over $50! Yes, I did just say that it includes Canada! I know, monumental :’)
Check out The Hijab Souq on their website, Instagram, and Facebook! They always have sales going on so you definitely want to be updated with their social media accounts!
For this post, I decided to choose the 4 types of sweaters that I wear most and show how I like to wear them. These are: Thick/Chunky sweaters, Thin sweaters, Maxi Cardigans, Cropped sweaters (jumpers). I also feel these are the most practical for the cold weather and most popular right now.
I hope you enjoy this post!
Sweater 1: Thick Sweaters
Alright, let’s be real. Thick sweaters just make us all sad because it enforces the reality of cold weather LOL. Might as well make them look cuter so we can feel better about ourselves! But honestly, we all have to wear these types of sweaters one day or another. With these sweaters, you can really do anything. I love to play with colours when it comes to these types of sweaters because you already have a unique texture from the fabric itself, so you can either play with patterns or mix up the colours.
For this outfit, I wore a black and white sweater with stripes on the back. Hence, I chose not to incorporate any more prints into the outfit. It is long and flattering, and has two zippers on the sides that can be opened to create some slits. I paired it with the Royal Lace hijab in the Tan colour. This hijab has to be one of the SOFTEST hijabs I have ever seen/own/worn! The lace is on both edges of the hijab, and I even changed my hijab style to show it off! You know a hijab is pretty amazing if it makes me change my hijab style :’)
I decided to wear some standard fall colours with this outfit – olive green, tan, and cognac brown! This outfit turned out really well and it’s perfect for everyday use. I wore this for running errands and I can easily see how this outfit will become a go-to for school.
I LOVE this outfit! It’s so casual yet perfect. Thin sweaters are great for those in-between days where it’s chilly, but not super cold. They’re also great for layering because you can add more pieces and have the option of removing some if it gets warmer. Hence, I decided to style the Hijab Souq scarf around my neck, instead of as my hijab! I know, sneaky! But with thin sweaters, scarves around your neck look super cute and are a great to add some extra warmth without the bulk. I even have a post on HOW TO STYLE: Neck Scarves, so you can have plenty of ideas on how to wear them with your thin sweater :’)
I wore this plum purple sweater and some distressed jeans! I actually DIY-ed this pair, so I plan on doing a post on this soon inshallah! For some reason, when I envisioned this outfit, I just felt like it needed some hole-y jeans. I just thought it made the look. So I made some and I’m so glad I did 🙂 Of course, I wore leggings underneath for modesty purposes hehe. I wore the Candy Fiesta hijab around my neck. I love the fun, unique print – it is versatile for year-round wear. The tassels on the edges made this hijab even more ideal for being around my neck! I just finished the outfit with a solid brown hijab that matched a shade from the hijab. Overall, I’m really pleased with this look!
Is it okay to also ABSOLUTELY ADORE this outfit as well?!
This is by far one of the biggest trends recently in the (hijabi) fashion community. Maxi cardigans are perfect because they’re super long and look great over anything and everything. They’re very handy in that way and hence I wanted to share a different way to style them!
They’re definitely great for wearing something shorter underneath because you know you’re still modest and covered. But, I also really like wearing them with a longer top underneath! The maxi on maxi (more like midi on midi) look is really chic in my opinion! It’s almost a bit redundant and unnecessary – I mean, I’m wearing a super long cardigan for a reason! Take it for what it is, but the two long pieces really compliment each other and have a sophisticated look. This is a new way that I love wearing my maxi cardigans so I had to share it in this post 🙂
I wore this gray speckled maxi cardigan with this Pink long sleeve Midi Dress from Daya Couture! So again, maxi cardigans are awesome for layering and keeping you warm yet stylish. I paired these two with the Tri-Coloured Hue hijab. Honestly, the second I saw this hijab, I envisioned this outfit. It was just meant to be 🙂 I’m really into Ombre hijabs these days and I love how this one has 3 colours – beige, pink, and charcoal gray. The hues on this hijab are on point! The combination is just so classy and matched exactly with this outfit. The texture of the sweater and colours from the hijab mesh well together. These pieces were made for each other!
Cropped sweaters have definitely become a fall/winter wardrobe staple for me! I just got into them last winter and I wish I discovered them earlier! They’re quite easy to style and my favourite way to wear them is to layer them with longer blouses underneath! Sometimes, if you have a sleeveless blouse, it’s hard to wear them with a short cardigan or a long sleeve tshirt underneath. So for added warmth, you can easily throw a cropped sweater on top! I also wear these sweaters with maxi skirts, they’re the perfect length and are a great way to hang on to your skirts for a little longer 😉
For this outfit, I wanted to go for a black and white look and then spice it up with the hijab. Starting from the sweater, I wore a light gray, almost silver-like) sweater, a black and white grid print blouse, white jeans, and black heels. The blouse has two slits on the sides, which adds to the modern feel of the his outfit. Although unintentional, I liked how the white-black-white-black pairing worked out! I wore the Tri-Coloured hue hijab once again, because it’s pretty modern and works well with the pieces in the outfit.
And there you have it! I sincerely hope you enjoyed this post! I know I loved coming up with all of the outfits – because now I have 4 great outfits on my go-to list hehe! If you have any feedback, please let me know!
Remember to check out The Hijab Souq on their website, Instagram, and Facebook! Remember, you get FREE shipping if your order is over $50!
You can also check HH out on Instagram and Facebook to see more outfits and the random shenanigans of my life :’)
I just wanted to take a moment to say a big THANK YOU to all of you! Our HijabiHeroes Instagram hit 3,000 followers! I’m going to say my usual ‘numbers don’t count’ because they really don’t, but it’s just insane to think that over 3,000 people believe in the message of modesty and style going hand in hand. These thousands of people also think the outfits I post on my account are nice and fashionable and hence they support the message. So thank you, thank you, thank youuuuu!
Today I wanted to share some pictures from a photoshoot I did with MY Voice back in May. If you don’t know what MY Voice is, it’s a Muslim student/youth run magazine in Toronto. From the articles, to the designing, and production – it’s all run by talented students! They release a new issue quarterly and have their new upcoming issue in September. The articles vary in their topics, from a unique perspective, to reviews, to entertainment, to talking about events and things happening in Toronto. It’s a really cool initiative and it’s so inspiring to see so much talent and hard work from high-schoolers and university students.
One of their photographers, Sahar, is my friend Kulsoom’s friend. She reached out to me asking if I would be interested in being in a photoshoot that would be used for promotional purposes. MY Voice is currently selling T-shirts as a means to fundraise and finance their magazine. The designs were all made by a high-school student and there are 3 shirts in 3 colours each – light blue, purple, and grey. She wanted me to wear them and style them so the photos could be used for advertising.
So Sahar, Kulsoom and her sisters, myself met up at Square One to take some cool shots. Square One is located in the Downtown part of Mississauga so there are some cool buildings and areas in the neighbourhood. Asad, my friend and fellow colleague from MIST was also there as Sahar recruited him to be the male model.
To style the shirts, I chose 3 different ways to wear them. This is almost like a little HOW TO STYLE: Graphic Tshirts segment hehe! (Which BTW, if you’d like that post, let me know in the comments!)
1. With a Maxi Skirt
– Casual yet put-together look
2. Over jeans and a Kimono on top – This Kimono was my DIY 2-second NO Sew Kimono – Casual look
3. Blazer and Maxi Skirt
– More sophisticated look
The shirts are about to go on sale soon!
For more information about the shirts, and to see all the cool things MY Voice does, check out their website and Like their Facebook page! They also recently opened an Instagram account so follow them on there too!
The pictures look really great and Kulsoom even took some behind-the-scenes pictures for you all. I hope you enjoy!
And there you are! Please please do support MY Voice. Even if you can’t purchase a shirt, at least like their Facebook page or follow them on Instagram and see what they’re all about! Want to join MY Voice as a designer or want to write an article for them?! You can do both! Check out their website for more details and submit your article for their next issue (which would be December).

Last weekend my family and I went on a little weekend trip to Kingston. Kingston is about 3 hours from Toronto and on the way to Ottawa and Montreal. It’s a very historic city with many important locations from Canadian history.
We went from Friday to Sunday and we just wanted to relax and see a new place. On Saturday, we did some typical sightseeing and explored Fort Henry, the Downtown area of Kingston, and near the waterfront. We had booked a Boat Cruise to see the 1000 Islands which was on Sunday early afternoon that was a 3-hour tour. It was so nice and relaxing.
The hotel we were staying at also had an indoor pool so I ended up spending a lot of time swimming and relaxing! We reached on Friday night and I went straight to the pool and I think I went swimming at least 3 times during our trip! What can I say, I have to take advantage of any opportunity I get to jump in a pool!
Here are some pictures from the trip and my outfits!
I stuck to really simple outfits for Friday and Saturday because I just wanted to be comfortable all day long. If anyone knows me, they know that I love my jean jacket to death. Hey, if you’ve seen any of my blogposts you probably could’ve figured it out too! I think jean jackets are ideal for any occasion, especially to throw over a top and be ready to go. Hence, I had to wear my jean jacket over a simple black and white grid blouse for an easy outfit. Black and white grid prints are also really ‘in’ right now and they’re so versatile because you can dress them up or down.
For the cruise on Sunday I thought I’d spice it up with a fun floral maxi dress – perfect for being on the water.
Sorry this is a shorter post! Hope you enjoy the pictures 🙂
Did you notice that my site is now just hijabiheroes.com! YES, I finally switched my domain! So if you followed my blog via email or wordpress, please re-follow on here! I would really appreciate it! I changed my host too and it’s a little complicated, so I would be grateful for your support. A huge shoutout to my friend who helped me do all of this and making HijabiHeroes a better site! 🙂
This past weekend I participated in the 2015 Umoja Games. Umoja Games is a muslim soccer tournament for North America focused on the key principles of unity and brotherhood. Not only was I playing in the Women’s division, I also was on the local organizing committee as the Games were held in Toronto this year!
We had a great time and despite all the hurdles, we made it! At the end of the hectic weekend, I hold on to some amazing memories! From working on the player badges at 3 am to running around the women’s soccer fields trying to get all the stats and update the social media accounts, it was all worth it. You could say it was all fun and games 😉 (GET IT LOL)
Like any other tournament, there was a closing ceremony after the finals game to culminate the entire weekend. All of the trophies were awarded and it was a very busy time! Of course, I have to share my outfit from the ceremony!
Being on the local organizing team, I had to set up for the closing and run around the area to get everything done. Hence, I wanted my outfit to be functional and comfortable so I could easily do work but something more fancy to match the event.
I really like palazzo pants and I think they look classy but are very effortless. They’re especially nice for the hotter climate because you aren’t restricted by tighter trousers but you’re not necessarily wearing a dress. And the fact that they are super loose/wide and give an illusion of being a maxi dress ensures that they are also very modest! Win win for both teams! (Aren’t you loving all of my soccer/sports references?!? haha!)
Also, can you believe these aren’t real palazzo pants?! WAIT, what?! These are actually the bottoms for an indian outfit of mine :$ But when I tried the outfit on, I just knew these pants would have a double purpose!
I paired these blush ones with a crisp white crop top from Forever 21. The ruffle at the bottom added a nice sophisticated touch. To tie the look together, I added a pink printed hijab with white and coral accents and a silver necklace to add a little sparkle. For some contrast, I wore cognac brown loafers as they are comfortable for a lot of walking and add some colour to the look!
I hope you like the look!
Thank you Aziza for being my photographer hehe and to Salwa and Fatima Jiwan for the creative input 😉
Hijab – Ardene
White top – Forever 21
Palazzo Pants – Part of an Indian outfit :$
Necklace – Costa Blanca
Purse – Aldo
Shoes – Aldo
I had so much fun with all of my friends, new and old and those who traveled from all around the US to attend the Games. It was nice seeing you all again! To my team, I know we didn’t win the tournament, but we played well and I’m thankful for this experience. To my friends who came to watch and support all of us, thank you so much! It was super sweet knowing that someone was cheering for us and having faith in our abilities. To my friends who I met at the closing, even if we just talked for 5 minutes or if we hung out more, I hope you are all doing well and I’m so glad we had a chance to meet up again and I hope we see each other very soon!
Thank you all for an awesome weekend 🙂
Believe it or not, one of most common questions I get from family, friends and messages on Facebook (lol) are what to wear for fancy events and where to get such clothing from. Whether it’s for long sleeve maxi dresses, lace looks, or even a great maxi skirt, I’m always trying to help my fellow muslimahs find modest formal attire. Hence, I thought I’d make a little handy guide for some outfit ideas, my personal tips, and places to get classy formal outfits! These looks are perfect for the many formal events in our lives – weddings, graduations, proms, banquets, parties, and anything and everything in between! The best part of this post – I partnered up with Salam Shop and had a great morning of playing dress-up in their adorable store! Most of the pieces from my outfit ideas are all from Salam Shop so you have easy access to all the gorgeous items! 😉
Check them out – http://salamshop.ca / @mysalamshop
A big thank you to Salam Shop and my dear friend Kulsoom for coming along and taking all of these wonderful pictures!
Outfit ideas for more formal occasions can be tricky! You don’t want to be overdressed but you don’t want to be too simple either. You’re never sure if you should wear cultural clothing, or stick to a for-everybody look. Also, depending on the time and season of the event, you have to modify your clothing choices and selection. So basically, dressing up may be fun but can be pretty hectic to coordinate!
Here are some basics, right off the bat:
– Plain hijabs are always a safe and pretty option – Go with neutrals or soft tones like nude, mauve, or dusty pink
– Don’t overdo with the prints – Keep it classy! Depending on the event, such as a wedding, you don’t want to be the centre of attention! One simple print in a small accent to an outfit is a great amount!
– Wear what makes you comfortable! – Chances are, your event may be a long one so you want something you are physically comfortable in and something that makes you feel great!
– Think of the entire outfit! – Think about each individual piece and if it’s a practical choice for your event. Those 6-inch heels may be gorgeous, but it won’t be pretty when you fall on your face 😛
Let’s jump into some outfit ideas!
Look 1: Maxi Skirt
This definitely should’ve been expected from me haha! Maxi skirts are super versatile and can be transitioned from casual to fancy with the addition of a few pieces such as jewelry, a pretty clutch, and neutral colours. But, sometimes, you want to have a statement piece that’s a little bigger than normal! This maxi skirt look is traditional in the sense that it’s super simple in it’s components. All you do is tuck a blouse into a skirt and add a neutral hijab and you’re done! However, it’s this sequinned beauty that adds the perfect pop and glam to this outfit! This gold maxi skirt is from Hayah Collection and it’s actually super comfortable! The fabric is pretty stretchy and isn’t tight so you can walk easily in it. It has a concealed zipper in the back and is very easy to zip. ALSO, did I mention this skirt is on sale right now?! YES! Make sure you grab it before it’s all gone!
Now, picking the perfect hijab wasn’t easy, I’ll have to admit! I was looking around to find a hijab that would balance out the skirt without being too distracting and making the outfit goddy. I opted for this stunning beige/nude hijab from The Fashion Caravan and it has these small pearls around the rim of the hijab – the perfect touch to tie in the entire outfit and add a last bit of glam to the look!
Style Tip: Since there is already a heavy skirt and a contrast with light and dark from the colours of the blouse and skirt, strike a balance with your choice of hijab. Let the pieces themselves do the talking and don’t turn any one article against the other.
Look 2: Maxi Dresses
Surprise Surprise! Malikah’s 2nd favourite thing after maxi skirts – maxi dresses! What can I say, I have an obsession! But you really can’t blame me! Maxi dresses are so ambidextrous, and when you score a long sleeved one, I think you’re allowed to throw a party just for that 😉 (and then you can wear it at the party because you’ll need a formal outfit LOL)
Long sleeve maxi dresses are so elegant and having one-piece that flows from top to bottom is a classy and chic outfit option. It’s also very effortless because you can just slip on one article of clothing and basically be ready! This emerald green dress is from Daya Couture, another brand from Salam Shop! This dress is an Infinite Abaya, and let me tell you, there was a lot of fabric in this dress! So of course, I was very excited to twirl in this dress and strike my signature pose! I think I’m getting pretty predictable haha! 🙂
To make the outfit more light and Spring-y, and also great for occasions in the day time or evening, I decided to wear a pink and green printed floral hijab. What I love about this hijab is that the floral pattern is housed by a neutral cream base, which still keeps the hijab elegant. Again, this one’s from The Fashion Caravan. To complete the look, I added the “Sunshine” pink necklace from Silk of Paradise, which really helped to bring all of the colours together while also adding some sparkle!
Style Tip: Add in some pops of colours as accents and use accessories to tie them back into the original look. This is especially great for lighter and day-time events because you can play with prints a little more freely hah 🙂
If you can’t find a long sleeve maxi dress, you can always go for a ‘regular’ sleeveless fancy dress. Now, unfortunately, with Summer around the corner, many of the dresses available right now are either sheer, have slits, or both. But, of course, looking at the glass half full and the beauty in every situation, you can always work around these “haram” parts LOL. For this maxi dress, there is a sheer bottom half with two long slits. To halal-ify this outfit, I wore a matching pink long sleeve tshirt underneath the dress and actually wore a….pleated skirt underneath the dress! WHAT?! Yes, you got that right! Many people dislike layering and I agree, it can get heavy and very hot. But with this dress, since the bottom skirt part is all sheer anyway, it is so lightweight that wearing a skirt underneath isn’t really a big deal at all. This skirt matches really well with the dress and just hides behind with no one noticing. Because the outfit was quite plain as it was all one colour, I added a lace printed hijab that also had neutrals and pink to finish the outfit.
Look 3:Midi Dress with Leggings
A dress with leggings – the classic look for our preteen selves LOL. Wearing a dress with leggings can actually work really nicely and make for an elegant and sophisticated outfit. The key for this is to find the perfect top/dress that not only maintains modesty, but is also super cute yet classy! This long sleeve midi dress is from Daya Couture once again. It’s very flowy and oversized with fitted sleeves that equalize the baggy nature of the ensemble. Plus, the mustard colour is perfect for the Spring time and isn’t too bright for a fancy event. With the hijab, I opted for a small floral print hijab from The Fashion Caravan, that again, is based off a neutral colour, to add some more spice to the outfit. Instead of wearing a heavy statement necklace, I felt the looser nature of the top only deserved a long and sleek necklace to add the finishing bit of excitement. This necklace is from Silk of Paradise and the gem/natural stone jewelry is very in right now.
Style Tip: Your hijab doesn’t always have to be a perfect match, just like the first outfit. This hijab doesn’t exactly have yellow in it but the white matches the leggings and the other colours complement the dress so it doesn’t look out of place. The purple gem stone necklace helps to draw in the colours from the hijab.
Look 4: Pants
Yes, pants. If you’re going to a less formal event but still need to look dressed up, then wearing a nice trouser is a perfect option. A classic black trouser in your favourite fit really is a staple in one’s wardrobe and can be worn with blazers, maxi cardigans, sweaters, and can always be accessorized to spice them up.
This outfit is from the MIST Award Ceremony. Even though I was a volunteer and not a participant in the actual ceremony, I still wanted to look presentable lol as I am on the MIST dream team! I wore these black straight pants with a peplum top and a lace maxi cardigan. Because the lace and sequinned patterns are already in the outfit, I wore a coloured plain hijab to add some colour in a monochrome look.
For more details on this outfit, check out my MIST weekend outfits post!

I’ve been shopping at Wardrobe Fashion House from around the time it opened and honestly, their collections just get better and better! Their decor is really nice too and everything is very elegant and colourful!
They kindly invited me to scope out their anniversary sale for you all and hence, I got a sneak peek at all their great deals and even had the chance to wear some of their outfits to show you all! And when they say sale, they mean SALE because EVERYTHING in the store is on sale! There’s so many deals going on, even for the new arrivals! There’s many different sales racks such as 40%, 50%, and a $150 outfit rack. This sale is so good that some outfits on the 40% and 50% racks actually end up being less than $100! So you’re bound to get a great deal!
They are also launching their bridal collection so that’s super exciting too! They’re going to have refreshments and hors d’oeuvres and every day, there will be a Lucky Draw to win a Party Wear Suit valued at $250!
I think Wardrobe Fashion House made a mistake of inviting me early because I already picked up some outfits hehe 🙂 But don’t worry, I didn’t buy the entire store (I was about to though LOL), so I left some of my favourites for you all 😉
Wardrobe Fashion House
5-519 Ray Lawson Blvd, Brampton, ON
Open 12 pm – 9 pm
Make sure to check it out and don’t forget to mention HijabiHeroes (or you could say Munira sent you, that’s my mom’s name LOL) when you go shopping 🙂
Now here are some of their outfits modelled by yours truly! I had the chance to wear some outfits of different styles so you can see the various outfits Wardrobe Fashion House has that can work for the many occasions of life!
Outfit 1: Casual Lawn
This outfit is a cotton kurti with a matching dupatta (shawl) that has a beautiful grey, pink, orange, and cream colour combination. The fitting of this top was so perfect and the embroidery on the front was very classy and pretty.
I also wore a gold and pink bangle that is the perfect touch to this outfit!
Outfit 2: Party Wear
This outfit is an outfit I didn’t expect myself to like so much! This gold ensemble with green, orange, and pink floral embroidery has it’s own flair. The very wide palazzo pants makes this outfit very unique.
Outfit 3: Formal Wear
This look is my favourite! This outfit is quite heavy and hence, I sadly had to say goodbye to it (One of you better grab it and give it a good home LOL). This gorgeous navy/royal blue outfit with gold embroidery and a hint of teal is just perfect. This outfit has a layered look and looks quite like an indian maxi dress 🙂 I paired it with a cream shimmery hijab to accent the classy gold detailing.
Outfit 4: Sari
Lastly, I got to wear a sari! YAY, I love saris but I’ve never worn one to an actual event. I just sometimes try them on at home for fun LOL. I did however wear a sari to my school’s Culturefest so I enjoyed reliving my sari outfit memories :’) I got to wear my beautiful peach and gold sari with a super sparkly and bedazzled clutch that’s perfect for any bridal occasion!
Just a heads-up: I had to be very modest with this look but I just wanted to show you all that Wardrobe Fashion House also has an amazing collection of saris and I really wish I could own them all. Even just lined up on hangers, they just look so beautiful :’)
That’s a wrap! Make sure to check out Wardrobe Fashion House’s 1-year anniversary sale this weekend, staring Friday May 1 to Sunday May 3!
Hope you enjoyed this post 🙂

For those of you who had exams, I hope they went well inshallah!
I just finished my last and biggest exam yesterday! It was a practical exam for Nursing and we had to perform many different assessments on standardized patients. The most stressful part is that you have no idea what you’ll have to do until you enter the patient’s room!
Anyways, now that exams are over alhamdulilah and my first school year in university has come to an end, I thought I would pay tribute to my beautiful school, McMaster University.
Back in March, one of my best friends came to visit McMaster University as she had a day off. Of course, as she’s a photographer, we had to snap some shots 🙂
We tried to take pictures in front of some beautiful architecture and historic charm that makes McMaster the homey and warm campus it is. Unfortunately, it was still snowing back then, and seems to be close to it now (sad Canadian life), so we didn’t get as many shots. I hope you can still see some parts of McMaster!
McMaster, it’s been real. My first year in university has taught me a lot. Besides the two semesters of Health Science Anatomy and the many nursing skills I now possess, I learned a lot about myself. I learned to be more giving, more genuine, and more independent. I learned about my biases and my judgements and faced situations that were new, different, and sometimes made me uncomfortable. But at the end of it all, I learned to be me.
Inshallah, looking forward to the rest of my university career at McMaster!
For my outfit, since it was still colder then, I chose to wear my fur vest. Not that I really have to have an excuse to wear it, but still 😉
I paired it with a long sleeves crop top and simple black skirt. To add some colour to the monochrome outfit, I wore a navy floral hijab.
Hope you like it!
