I’m back with another blogpost! I know it’s been AGES. To be honest, I’ve been kinda out of the blogpost flex lately, and I didn’t want to give you content I wasn’t proud of or enthusiastic about. Also, the new islamic year began, which starts with the two months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar (read more here), so I was also holding off until the first 12 days of Muharram passed.
School is so hectic right now, I’m really feeling the pressure haha! I just finished a midterm yesterday, and I REALLY have been wanting to do this blogpost for you all, so I had to squeeze some time in. Truth be told, this blogpost was a suggestion by a good friend – Fadak! She asked for this how to style post, and I’m happy to deliver! Thanks girl for your continued support ❤️
What’s that?! A hat?! Crazy funky chunky hat?!
Nahhh, it’s just another HH blogpost!
(I really need to work on my intros 😅)
Thank you all for your messages – I am feeling better alhamdulilah and slowly regaining my strength. It’s so funny how one runny nose and cough can knock me off my balance. After not being sick for such a long time (alhamdulilah alhamdulilah), feeling like this has been less than ideal.
I went up and down with how I was feeling, but in between, on Saturday morning, I was feeling better.
So to take advantage of the Sun (not warm weather, just Sun 😢), I went to Dara Boutique’s Grand Opening of their Flagship Store!!
Yes, how exciting! Dara Boutique opened her own store and it is BEYOND ADORABLE. LIKE WAY TOO PRETTY. Mashallah! 💕
For those of you who had exams, I hope they went well inshallah!
I just finished my last and biggest exam yesterday! It was a practical exam for Nursing and we had to perform many different assessments on standardized patients. The most stressful part is that you have no idea what you’ll have to do until you enter the patient’s room!
Anyways, now that exams are over alhamdulilah and my first school year in university has come to an end, I thought I would pay tribute to my beautiful school, McMaster University.
Back in March, one of my best friends came to visit McMaster University as she had a day off. Of course, as she’s a photographer, we had to snap some shots 🙂
We tried to take pictures in front of some beautiful architecture and historic charm that makes McMaster the homey and warm campus it is. Unfortunately, it was still snowing back then, and seems to be close to it now (sad Canadian life), so we didn’t get as many shots. I hope you can still see some parts of McMaster!
McMaster, it’s been real. My first year in university has taught me a lot. Besides the two semesters of Health Science Anatomy and the many nursing skills I now possess, I learned a lot about myself. I learned to be more giving, more genuine, and more independent. I learned about my biases and my judgements and faced situations that were new, different, and sometimes made me uncomfortable. But at the end of it all, I learned to be me.
Inshallah, looking forward to the rest of my university career at McMaster!
For my outfit, since it was still colder then, I chose to wear my fur vest. Not that I really have to have an excuse to wear it, but still 😉
I paired it with a long sleeves crop top and simple black skirt. To add some colour to the monochrome outfit, I wore a navy floral hijab.
Hope you like it!

After doing my OOTD post a couple days ago, I’ve decided to do these more often! It’s a quick and easy way for me to share my style and experiment with some new outfits.
I was definitely experimenting when I purchased this fur vest (faux of course). I’ve seen many people wear them and to be honest, when I see a trend go super mainstream, I’m actually not attracted to it! I don’t like dressing like everyone/doing what everyone does – and I don’t mean that in an arrogant/rude way :$. I just like being me hehe. Nonetheless, I actually think fur vests are really cute but I wasn’t sure if they would suit me or which type to get. I saw this off white one and thought, this is it. It’s still a fur vest and following the trend, but it’s not a super typical one. A perfect compromise for me!
So first step is completed, but now I needed to think of an outfit to pair it with! One thing was for sure, I wanted to try it out and make sure I’m not getting too out of my comfort zone too quickly. I decided to wear it for my friend’s younger sister’s birthday party because it was a space where I could test out my style aha! It’s like my second home so no one could judge me if the outfit was a total mess :’)
To my surprise, I loved the way the outfit turned out and I can’t wait to style my vest many other ways! I hope you like the outfit too!
Of course, all these pictures were taken by one of my best friends – Kulsoom!
She just started an instagram for her photography! You should check her out – @lac0nicph0t0s (yes, all the o’s are replaced by zero’s )
