Mega apologies for not having a blogpost up this weekend! MIST Toronto is this weekend and I’m GOING CRAZY haha! There is so much to prep and as I am Competitions Co-Manager, I have a lot to finish up before the tournament days!
So heads up – blogposts will be delayed next week too, but there may be two to make up for it 😉
Before I begin, I just wanted to say Happy International Women’s Day! 💓
I wanted to share a quick OOTD with you all!
With the weather fluctuating so much, I haven’t been able to start transitioning my wardrobe into Spring wear. It’s all a big tease – one day I think it’s Spring, the next day there’s a huge snow storm and classes get cancelled!
As you all know, one of my favourite pieces to wear are maxi dresses! Unfortunately, when the winds are blowing at 9706454 km an hour, or if there are layers of snow and ice on the ground, they’re not always practical! But I just couldn’t take all the bundling anymore! I mean layering is really fun and a hijabi’s dream, but I really miss the warm weather! So for my MIST meeting this past Sunday, I decided to compromise with this high slit maxi t-shirt dress from Zara!
This collaboration has been a long time coming and I’m finally glad its here!
As you probably already know by now, considering she’s been in a couple of my blogposts, Azra from AZ Photography and Design is a really close friend of mine! She’s one of my best frans.
We have been talking about collabing for a while and we finally had a chance to pick a time that worked for our busy schedules for a fun winter photoshoot!
Kulsoom, aka What’s Your Motive, joined in as well, of course. She helped out with a very special part 😁
We shot in a park and near the Living Arts centre. It was freezing cold that day, but Azra was an absolute trooper! Not only was she willing to shoot in any location of my choice, she was also so understanding and never complained about the weather conditions or anything! Her flexible nature was definitely appreciated, because we all know HH is quite particular! 😉
She was well prepared for shooting in both locations and knew what poses would work well. Everything was so perfect and every photo came out stunning!
She definitely knows what she is doing and has shot a variety of events in different settings. From weddings, portrait sessions, family shoots, or indoor, outdoor, snow, sunshine, you name it, Azra can capture it! And do a phenomenal job at it! I would highly recommend her for any occasion!
Thank you all for the positive feedback and comments from Part 1 of the #DoneDoneLondon blogposts! Everyone seemed to love seeing all the details from the wedding! I’m so glad you all liked it! Part 2 will be up next week inshallah!
Today I had a meeting in Downtown Toronto for MIST Toronto, so I wanted to share my outfit from that! The dress code was Business Casual and we had to incorporate the colour navy into our outfits for our Team pictures. Since I really don’t show much ‘professional’ wear on here, I thought it’d be nice to share my outfit from today! And please let me know if you’d like more posts regarding outfits for work or professional settings!
Since I had to wear navy, I decided to first pick out my navy pants and Voile Chic navy viscose hijab. I thought it’d be easier to have the ‘required’ pieces out of the way and focus the rest of the outfit around that. In London, I bought this gorgeous blush pink ‘coatigan’ from Primark, aka the best store ever :’) It’s called a coatigan because it’s structured like a coat, but it’s in a cardigan/sweater material!
I also wanted to wear this cream and black windowpane scarf around my neck to add some more dimension, so I just picked a cream blouse to match. I find adding a scarf is a good way to accessorize and creates a polished, put-together look.
Surprise surprise, I have another blogpost for you this week! I realized that I hadn’t done an OOTD post in a really long time, and I had a cute outfit, so I thought might as well 🙂
This one’s pretty short, but I really love this outfit!
Alhamdulilah, recently, the weather has been surprisingly nice in Toronto! It hasn’t hit full winter mode, and I get to enjoy Fall for just a little longer!
Fall is one of my favourite seasons, because it’s colder so you can layer, but it’s not too cold that you’re freezing! Also, layering is necessary, which is perfect for dressing modestly.
I’m also taking advantage for the extra days of nice weather. I’m still wearing my skirts and maxi dresses with minimal flying! It’s a record! When I picked up this grey milk silk maxi dress from Kabayare Fashion, I fell in love! It’s long sleeve, lined, and flows so nicely! The colour is so neutral and works for all year round, but I especially love how it looked in this outfit.
And I don’t know if this is just me, but I’m pretty short LOL, so a lot of mainstream dresses don’t fit me! It’s a sad life, I know. A lot of the times, I don’t end up purchasing them because the hassle and extra cost it would take to shorten them really isn’t worth it. I actually ordered this dress in the “SHORT” size, but I’m still too vertically challenged :’)
Hence, for a quick fix, I just knotted the bottom so the dress wouldn’t drag on the floor. The knot added a super cute touch and style to the whole look. Obviously, I had to wear leggings underneath to maintain modesty, but the extra layer was great for protection against the chill!
I paired by Kabayare Fashion dress with my pink pearl rimmed hijab from Dara Boutique, some sparkly pointed flats, and a big black floppy hat! I also added a lace moto jacket for some extra sophistication hehe!
I hope you liked this post! I know it was simple and short, but I didn’t want to pass up an opportunity for a new upload!

I hope you are all doing well! Eid Mubarak to you all! I pray you have a blessed day with your family and friends! Even if you have to go to school/work, make the most of the day! I know my mom is taking my advice from my previous Eid Inspiration blogpost and she’s wearing something fancy to work :))
Today I wanted to share some more Eid inspiration and just general fancy outfit inspiration with you all! After Eid ul Adha, there’s still two more Eids! There’s Eid e Ghadeer, the event in which the Holy Prophet declares his cousin and son-in-law, Imam Ali, to be the successor after him. And there’s also Eid e Mubahila, marking the discourse and dialogue between the Holy Prophet and a leader from another faith who challenged the Prophet to bring the best men, women, and children of Islam. The Holy Prophet selected his Holy Household, and when the others just saw the piety of these holy individuals, they all converted to Islam. These are two both monumental events, so there’s still time for celebration!
Also, there are still some weddings coming up in October! I know I’ve been invited to 3-4 before Muharram begins. So the dressing up isn’t over for the season!
Hence, I wanted to share this unique outfit from Le Trend Boutique. I’ve talked about Le Trend Boutique before as well – they carry very different and one-of-a-kind outfits! They have a selection of casual and formal outfits as well as bridal outfits. They also take custom orders so you can get the outfit of your dreams! The outfit I wore last time was a blue and cream long sleeve maxi dress with lots of lace! This time I’m wearing a fusion outfit.
This outfit really screams “East Meets West” to me! It consists of a embroidered bolero jacket and a red maxi dress. The bolero is black with metallic white embroidery in a thick pattern, with a more eastern design. The fabric is raw silk, a material commonly used for elegant indian suits and even saris or lenghas. The red dress represents the Western side of the outfit. It has a couple gathers and pick-ups, which add some dimension and flair to the look. The black and white with the red is also a classic bold combination, so that’s a plus as well!
When I saw this outfit, I knew it would be perfect for Eid or a wedding! It’s not too fancy or formal as the dress is completely plain, and the embroidery on the blazer is just thread work. You can really dress this outfit up with a necklace if your event is more formal, but I just wore it the way it was. I also just wore a plain black hijab with the outfit, but a sparkly black hijab would also look really nice! To finish the look, I added a nude clutch and some nude heels.
Make sure to check out Le Trend boutique on Facebook and Instagram! If you follow Le Trend Boutique on Instagram, you can get 10% off any custom outfit!
I hope you like this look!

Last weekend my family and I went on a little weekend trip to Kingston. Kingston is about 3 hours from Toronto and on the way to Ottawa and Montreal. It’s a very historic city with many important locations from Canadian history.
We went from Friday to Sunday and we just wanted to relax and see a new place. On Saturday, we did some typical sightseeing and explored Fort Henry, the Downtown area of Kingston, and near the waterfront. We had booked a Boat Cruise to see the 1000 Islands which was on Sunday early afternoon that was a 3-hour tour. It was so nice and relaxing.
The hotel we were staying at also had an indoor pool so I ended up spending a lot of time swimming and relaxing! We reached on Friday night and I went straight to the pool and I think I went swimming at least 3 times during our trip! What can I say, I have to take advantage of any opportunity I get to jump in a pool!
Here are some pictures from the trip and my outfits!
I stuck to really simple outfits for Friday and Saturday because I just wanted to be comfortable all day long. If anyone knows me, they know that I love my jean jacket to death. Hey, if you’ve seen any of my blogposts you probably could’ve figured it out too! I think jean jackets are ideal for any occasion, especially to throw over a top and be ready to go. Hence, I had to wear my jean jacket over a simple black and white grid blouse for an easy outfit. Black and white grid prints are also really ‘in’ right now and they’re so versatile because you can dress them up or down.
For the cruise on Sunday I thought I’d spice it up with a fun floral maxi dress – perfect for being on the water.
Sorry this is a shorter post! Hope you enjoy the pictures 🙂
Okay, the title of this blogpost is super misleading hehe! This post is about me and a couple other friends surprising my cousin for her 18th Birthday weekend in London….Ontario. I know, I got all excited and had my British passport ready to reunite with Big Ben. I guess London, ON isn’t too bad either 😉
So yeah! A friend Mohaddisa and I surprised my cousin Zohra for her 18th Birthday! It was so much fun and I wanted to share it with you all 🙂
Friday, July 24 – THE SURPRISE DAY!
On Friday evening, Moha and I were picked up by my aunt, Zohra’s mom and we were off to London! Zohra had NO idea we were doing any of this and she actually called her Mom when we were in the car and she sounded so grumpy because she thought her birthday weekend was going to be boring and was already dreading it from the moment she got off work. Little did she know Moha and I had to hold our breath during the call so she couldn’t even hear a little bit of noise! I really wanted to laugh but I had to keep quiet for the surprise!
I bought balloons for her and when we reached London, Moha bought Zohra a Starbucks Birthday Cake Frappe and then we were on our way home! Moha and I stayed in the car while Zohra’s mom and sister went inside and pretended like everything was normal. A couple minutes later, we rang the doorbell and Zohra was SOO surprised! It was great!
For my outfit, I really wanted to be comfortable for the 2 hour car drive down there. I decided to go with a midi dress and leggings because I would still be super comfortable and easygoing but also modest and covered. I threw on a maxi cardigan on top which I really liked the two ‘long’ pieces together. As an outfit, I kept it super simple in terms of colours and pieces so it was more of a minimalist look but I loved it! Will totally be re-wearing this outfit and other variations for the rest of summer!
And Moha, oh Moha. So on Thursday, Moha called me as we were finalizing Zohra’s gift and she told me she bought a tshirt that I would just love. She walked into my place on Friday and I was totally awed haha. Her shirt read “I’m Not A Blogger” – How Perfect haha 😉
Saturday, July 25
We basically woke up and jumped straight into the pool! :’)
Now, as part of the surprise, we told Zohra that we were only in London until 6 pm as I had to be back in Toronto for something. So we would have to be ready to leave her house at around 5 pm to get to the bus station and whatnot. In reality, we were leaving on Sunday morning and we only made this excuse because one of our other friends was coming to surprise Zohra as well! We also needed to go pick up some yummy Thai food for dinner that Zohra’s mom ordered so we needed an excuse to get out.
Anyways, we swam for a couple of hours and I was in total bliss! We then took a driving tour around London but had to come back quickly and make ANY excuse to get Zohra NOT to come drop us to the bus station. We then coordinated with our friend Ailya who was coming to Zohra’s and went to pick up dinner.
About an hour and a half later, we rang the doorbell again and surprised her AGAIN! We were BACKKKK and with one more surprise! For her birthday gift, We decided to give Zohra a University Survival Kit with useful items and fun little gifts that would be helpful during school time! We also wrote really cute notes on everything 🙂
After dinner, we surprised her by taking her to this Chocolate Fondue place where you can dip many yummy treats into white, milk, and dark chocolate! Our platter had a mix of fruits and sweet stuff. So delicious!
Sunday, July 26
The actual day of Zohra’s birthday! We left in the early afternoon and I was home around 2:30 pm
My brother plays Baseball every Sunday evening and since I was still in the outdoors mood, I asked my parents if we could go to a nearby park/stream for dinner! So we packed everything up and we had our dinner by the little stream. It was so peaceful and nice and there were actually so many other people there!
I am still sad that Ramadhan is over but I am definitely adjusting and getting back into the swing of things. It’s crazy how Ramadhan came and completely changed all of our schedules/routine and we were so much more God-conscious during the 30 days. Inshallah the heightened awareness of the Almighty remains until the next Mahe Ramadhan, ameen!
But now that Ramadhan is over, there are so many summer events going on! Weddings, BBQs, parties, birthdays, the list keeps going! I have a wedding to attend next weekend and so many more towards the middle and end of August. With so many events, we obviously need outfits to wear! Hence, when I came across this Beaudefy dress at Modah, I knew it would be perfect for a summer event coming soon! One of my close friends is hosting a Summer Tea Party so this would be great to wear for that! Of course, I couldn’t resist but take some pictures in it early hehe :$
As it’s super hot outside and the sun is shining, it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of wearing bright summery floral prints. Floral prints, like I talked about briefly in my Ramadhan Outfits post, scream summer and happiness to me. Therefore, when I don’t have to wear a jacket or coat, I take full benefit of wearing some fun colours and patterns. I just feel so much happier 🙂
This Beaudefy dress is so cute and it looks like a crop top and flowy skirt to be honest. I love how it gives an illusion of being two pieces, but it’s actually one, so you don’t have to worry about separate articles and you don’t feel as hot! It also has a fabric belt that is attached from the back and is the same fabric as the skirt half. The bottom part of this maxi dress is so flowy. No joke, there is so much fabric here, I had the best time twirling in this LOL.
The skirt part of this dress is mustard with some green, blue, and white flowers. I decided to just stick to a mustard hijab from Dara Boutique to keep the outfit simple and not introducing another new colour. I was tempted to wear a cream hijab for a more subtle look, but having a full cream half may wash out my face and take away from the overall look. After all, it’s summer! Rocking a pretty mustard never did anyone any harm :’)
I paired my dress with some gold day-time sandal wedges and just my rose gold watch. This outfit didn’t need any jewellery! Especially if I’m wearing this to the tea party, the dress by itself is perfect.
The dress does have an off-the-shoulder neckline, so it is more suitable for ladies-only events, but I just wore a short sleeves tshirt underneath the dress and everything was covered and modest 🙂
Beaudefy has other prints and designs in the same style dress! There’s a cream top with two other skirt bottoms (black, white, and yellow floral and then a blue floral similar to this one) and one with a black top with a cheetah print bottom. They’re all really nice and of course, available at Modah!
I hope you like the look! Thanks to my awesome momma for the pictures!
I hope you all enjoyed this post! My posting schedule will be going back to 1 post a week for the month of August. I know, it should be 2 posts a week because it’s still Summer, but I’m honestly so busy that I don’t want to commit to something I won’t be able to produce. If there is an extra post in a week, consider that me missing blogging 😉

(Belated) Eid Mubarak to you all! I trust you all had a wonderful Eid inshallah and may we be alive next year once again witness the holy and blessed month of Ramadhan, ameen.
Alhamdulilah, Eid was on a weekend this year, which was totally convenient for everyone! Eid became a 3 day Eid weekend celebration and I enjoyed every minute of it!
I thought I’d share some of my outfits from this busy weekend! I hope you like them 🙂
Eid Night – Friday Ethnic Wear
As we celebrated Eid on Saturday, our Eid night/chand raat was on Friday. We went to the mosque for iftaar like always. After iftaar, we had some supplications and a prayer to recite before Eid. It was so nice to recite these duas as a community. For an entire month, you spend every night with the same people, so it only made sense to pray on Eid with them too!
Also, for Eid, as I am on the youth committee, I made Eid Grams for people to gift others with. An Eid gram is basically a box of chocolates that you can purchase to give to someone else in the mosque and then we can deliver to that person on Eid night. It was such a huge success, with around 250 orders! We got special “Eid Mubarak” stickers custom printed and we put one on all four faces of the box and then hand filled them with an assortment of yummy chocolates. People even ordered them to take to work, give to their neighbours, and even to gift to the places they volunteer at!
For my outfit, I wore a pakistani suit. This one is very colourful – with pink, purple, orange, and white! I love the colour combination of this outfit, as the colours are bright and fun, but also look classy! The bottoms are palazzo pants, which are definitely a plus because they’re super comfortable and fashionable as well! You could even rock this outfit without the dupatta/shawl. This outfit has a silk shawl that has a different pattern than the outfit, giving it a unique look.
I would tell you the outfit details from this look, but I got this outfit at a bazaar a while ago and I don’t even remember the name of the person/business :$ Whoops :$
Saturday – Eid Morning Formal Maxi Dress
For Eid morning, we woke up bright and early (and I mean like 6 am :$) to get ready and get to mosque early for Eid salaat. We got to the mosque 30 minutes early and all the parking was already gone! So yeah, it’s pretty crazy! The mosque is always jaaaam packed, but it’s such a nice feeling to recite the Eid takbirs with everyone!
After Eid Salaat, at around 10:30-11:00ish, we went to my uncle’s house for an Eid brunch. Every year, there’s always brunch at this uncle’s house and we all gather together. I love breakfast and breakfast foods, so brunch is always yummy. We had some African/Indian dishes as well as some different breakfast cuisine. To highlight a few things, we had barazi (pinto beans in a coconut based curry), mandazi (african sweet bread), Lentil and vegetable bake (a new dish this year lol – it was lentils with vegetables with a light general flavour with eggs baked on top – I’m not describing it too well but it was soooooo good), fresh fruit salad, and lots and lots of sweets (indian mithai to nutella frosted brownies)! We go big, or go home 😉
For my outfit, I didn’t want to wear anything super heavy because it was the morning time. Of course, I still wanted to be formal, but something more light. It’s good to wear new clothes on Eid, as per a saying from the Holy Prophet, so I decided to head over to my favourite store, Modah, and pick up a lace long sleeve maxi dress! I mean, how could I not follow the Holy Prophet’s saying 😉
I got a navy lace maxi dress from HijabiMama and wore a silver and blue statement necklace to add a little bit of sparkle. I actually wore this dress in my Eid Guide – Decor, Outfits, and Gift Ideas blog post, but I wore it with a belt. Although I love this dress with a belt, I thought I wouldn’t wear one for the morning to keep the flowy and airy nature of the dress. Also I knew I was going to have a nice hearty brunch, so didn’t want to accentuate any bad parts if you know what I’m saying 😉
I just wore a floral hijab to add some colour and my favourite nude heels!
Had a little mini photo sesh right at the end of my uncle’s street lol!
Dress – HijabiMama
Hijab, Shoes, Necklace – Aldo
(I actually have a problem LOL – didn’t even realize it was all Aldo until now whoops :’) #sorrynotsorry)
Purse – Coach
Saturday – Eid Dinner Maxi Skirt
After the brunch, everyone was really exhausted! We all only got a couple hours of sleep the night before and had a very hectic morning/afternoon. We came home and rested for a bit and changed as well. We then went to the cemetery in Toronto where my grandfather and grandmother are buried and went to pay a visit to all the departed souls. (Please recite a Surah Fateha for all our deceased loved ones)
After, we drove around for a bit and then headed to dinner. Ever since we came back from our trip to Iran, I’ve loved Persian food! You would’ve thought I’d be sick of it by now, but I miss it so much! Well mostly their kebabs hehe! So we decided to have some yummy iranian food for Eid dinner.
One of my friends gifted me this gorgeous scarf for Eid. It’s so different – it’s cream, with periwinkle and a creamsicle orange squiggles almost. I decided to wear it because she gave it to me with so much love and she was excited to see a HH outfit with it 😉 I based my entire outfit around this hijab!
I tried on a couple different looks with a cream skirt and a light blue top, but I didn’t really love them. But then, I remembered that I ordered this beautiful pleated periwinkle skirt from London! I actually wore it on Eid-ul-Adha to an Eid festival/carnival! Turns out, it matched perfectly! I wore an off-white blouse (my go to crop top blouse basically) and I loved the way the entire outfit turned out!
And my mom totally rocked my Daya Couture midi dress! It look so nice on her! :))
And yes, my mom and I totally share clothes! And shoes, and jewelry, and purses, and everything else LOL! Normally I end up taking all of her stuff and she wears my hijabs hehe! I’m pretty sure she’s already planning to take this hijab I wore and convert it into her square style! What can I say, scheming runs in the family 😉 LOL
Hijab – Gift
White blouse – Forever 21
Skirt – Dorothy Perkins (UK)
Necklace and Shoes – Aldo (Yeah, it’s really an obsession LOL)
Purse – Coach
And there you have it, my Eid weekend in a nutshell! I hope you all also had a wonderful Eid as well! I’d love to see what you wore on Eid too! Hashtag #hijabiheroes or just tag me so I can take a look 🙂

So sorry there hasn’t been a post since last Saturday! I was sick for a week and with these last 10 days of Ramadhan upon us, I’ve been so busy at mosque! I also took a blogging break from the 19th to the 21st night of Ramadhan as those days are for mourning the death of the successor of the Prophet, Imam Ali (AS). Then the 23rd night is Laylatul Qadr so I didn’t have a chance to sit down and just blog. But ahhhh, feels so good right now!
Now, I hate to lie or beat around the bush, and obviously I hate not having great and new content for you all, but this week, it’s been tough. BUT, there are a lot of Ramadhan outfits I’ve had that I haven’t shared with you all on here. So I thought, why not make an ‘Outfit of the Week’ style post with a collection of my Ramadhan outfits for different events for some inspiration for these last couple of days!
My Ramadhan style basically consists one of one thing – maxi skirts! When I’m fasting, I’m normally too tired or too busy/rushed when it comes to picking an outfit to go to the mosque/iftaar/suhoor that I just run to my default maxi skirt collection and grab-and-go! Maxi skirts are so versatile and you look so put together but you’re really just comfy hehe. You can create endless outfit combinations and each time, you can have a different look.
Just had to include this disclaimer before I share the pictures! LOL
I also added a Style Tip with each outfit to give you a little bit of insight into the behind-the-scenes working of my brain when I chose these outfits and why they worked. I hope these tips are useful when you choose your own unique outfits!
Without further ado, I present to you some of #myramadhanootns from this Holy Month. Total hashtag reference and shoutout to my girl Fatema from StyleByFJ who has her annual #myramadhanootn hashtag so you can share all your Ramadhan outfits! If you haven’t already, make sure to use this hashtag next time you share a picture :))
Flowy Pants and Maxi Cardigan
I thought I’d ease into the plethora of maxi skirt outfits with an outfit consisting of….PANTS! I know, shocker!
This outfit was from my first iftaar of Ramadhan at one of my good friend’s house. I was super excited for Ramadhan so of course, I wanted to dress up, but I didn’t want to show that I dressed up. I wanted to dress up without looking too dressed up!
Hence, I chose to wear a casual piece – the blue printed pants, with a more understated but fancy piece – the lace cardigan.
Style Tip – By incorporating more casual and formal pieces together in one outfit, it makes the outfit fancy, but not overly dressed up.
I wore a white blouse and a plain light blue hijab for a classy finish to the look. I really liked how this outfit turned out!
Lace Cardigan – Kabayare Fashion White Blouse – Forever 21
Printed Pants – Urban Planet
Hand chain and Shoes – Aldo
Hijab – Dara Boutique
Contrasting Colours – Subtle Print with a Pop
Now this outfit was totally a last minute outfit! And I’m not exaggerating! I think I ended up taking a nap or getting too caught up in something and then I noticed my dad getting ready and I’m like, oh God, I need to get dressed!! Maxi dresses are also a trusty staple in my wardrobe so I chose one dress I bought on a summer sale last year but never had the chance to wear in the warm weather. It’s a navy blue maxi dress with white polka dots. Instead of just wearing a navy long-sleeve tshirt underneath, I wanted to add some colour to the look. So I threw on a mustard cardigan and was out the door.
Style Tip – When mixing prints and adding in new colours, work with an understated print. With small and more subtle prints, add a contrasting yet complimentary colour to liven up the outfit, but not be too overpowering to the eye. The simple and small polka dot print works well with the mustard cardigan. The mustard colour isn’t too bright and overwhelming so both work together nicely.
Cardigan – Zara
Dress – Joe Fresh
Hijab – Dara Boutique
Patriotic – Canada Day Ootd
Oh Canadaaaa, our home and native land! True patriot love, in all thy son’s command!
Okay, can we just take a second to appreciate the fact that I know the Canadian anthem LOL. I’m a Floridian so, this is an accomplishment :’)
For Canada Day, I thought I’d be a little festive and wear a Red and White outfit! Too bad only a couple other people at mosque were wearing Red and White too, but a lot of people appreciated my outfit so it’s all good 😉
I just wore my red skirt from Dara Boutique. My favourite part about this skirt is that it’s fully lined with a double lining AND it has pockets. WIN. Threw on a white cropped blouse and a black and white hijab for some contrast. Lastly, added a silver necklace for some bling and I was out the door!
Style Tip – Sometimes, it’s nice to just wear plain and simple colours and then add a slight contrast with the hijab. Then, work with the accessories to tie the look together. The silvery-black look of this tribal necklace helped to incorporate the black from the hijab into the outfit and balanced out the bold contrast without being too matching.
White Blouse top – Forever 21
Red Skirt – Dara Boutique
Hijab – Ardene
Necklace and Shoes – Aldo
Sweet and Simple – Ice Cream Outfit
I’m on the Youth Committee of my mosque and we planned a Cafe Night for all the youth Sisters where we had a cafe setting with fresh milkshakes of 4 flavours, cute snacks, and board games. We even had these cool tablecloths that everyone could write/draw on and it was just a really fun and cute event. We had around 50 girls show up, ages 8-25 and it was a really big hit!
Now, since this event was a cafe night, I thought I’d wear a super cutesy outfit hehe. When I was younger, I used to love the colour pairing of Brown and Pink, I always thought it was really classy. My favourite shirt in middle school was brown with pink flowers! So I thought I’d revive my childhood with this brown and pink outfit. Everyone on Instagram was saying I looked like the Napoleon ice-cream, which I totally didn’t recognize when I chose it, but I definitely agree!
Style Tip – Draw inspiration for outfits from your environment! It could be anything really! See a pattern or design of a plate or fabric you like – use those colours in your outfit. The world around us is beautiful subhanallah, so take a look and use Allah’s vibrant creations as your inspiration!
Brown Tshirt – Target
Skirt – Vero Moda
Hijab – Ardene
Necklace – Costa Blanca
Bright and Summery – Florals
What is summer without a nice floral print to brighten your day?! But actually, I totally associate floral prints with summer and it makes me so happy and automatically makes everything more fun.
The big versus small floral print is still undecided in my books. I normally go for a smaller floral because it’s the more safe option. But, in my Eid Guide – Decor, Outfits, and Gift Ideas post, I totally rocked a ball gown skirt with big flowers on it! So it’s definitely up to you and your personal preference! When I saw this skirt online, I knew I had to have it because it just made me feel good and happy :$ Because the skirt was already good enough on it’s own, I just wore a simple navy blouse and a white hijab to draw in the more neutral colours from the skirt.
Style Tip 1 – When wearing a more busy and ‘crazy’ print, draw in the more neutral colours for the other pieces in the outfit. For example, this skirt has small floral print, but it’s still all over with a bright yellow colour. Hence, for my top and hijab, I wore the neutral colours of navy and white instead of the yellow hues. This helps to tone down the outfit and keep the attention on the print.
Style Tip 2 – Wear prints and pieces that make you feel happy in that season. Florals are definitely my favourite summer piece, so I never hesitate to wear them in the Summer because I know once Winter rolls around, I’m not going to feel like wearing them anymore. I know this isn’t much of a “tip”, but honestly, I chose to wear this skirt because the colours are just so vibrant and scream summer to me!
Navy Blouse – Nygard
