I hope you are all doing well!
So I just realized I forgot to do a 2nd blogpost last week! WHOOPS! Sorry everyone! Things are just super busy as IMFDF was this past weekend, this week is a double wedding for us (two family friends, one is ShumiDee!), and then next week, I’m off to Orlando, FL! Lots and lots going on! Alhamdulilah, busy is good but I may be behind on blogposts 🙈
Like I said, IMFDF was this past weekend!! The International Modest Fashion and Design Festival (IMFDF) is a super cool event hosted annually and sponsored by the halal cosmetics company, Tuesday in Love! As always, the 2-day event features a Yacht party and a Fashion Show with a bazaar!
Of course, I had to share my experience with you all! First of all, it was so nice meeting so many of you! It’s always nice to connect faces to ‘likes’ hehe, and I’m so so SO appreciative that we got to talk and chill together! I had an amazing time!
Also, HUGE Shoutout to Taam Media for collaborating with me and sending me to IMFDF!
I did vlog both days and am uploading my video so you can see real life how IMFDF was!
Habiba Da Silva, aka LifeLongPercussion, was the main blogger at the event along with Saman aka MakeupHijabs! It was so nice meeting Habiba, she was really nice and I know everyone enjoyed chatting with her and taking some selfies of course! It’s always nice to meet Saman again, she is so down to earth and sweet, mashallah!
The yacht party was super cool and it was in Downtown Toronto so we had the beautiful Toronto skyline and the CN Tower surrounding us! Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favour, but alhamdulilah, we still had a great time!
For the fashion show and bazaar, it was a full day event from 12-8 pm. The bazaar was free for everyone so anyone could come by, shop the amazing and plentiful vendors, and even meet all the bloggers roaming around! There was also a cool “IMFDF” photo wall, similar to Red Carpet events, so that was really good to take pictures in front of! You could even get a mini-makeover done by Tuesday in Love, which was pretty sweet because this way you can test out their products and see them in action before purchasing!
Then, for the actual fashion show and workshops, there was ticketed entry. There were around 14 designers on the runway and 3-4 workshops, so it was a jam-packed day! The fashion show area is very much like a real runway environment, so it’s really a great experience!
I was also a style intern for Hakeemah, who’s a stylist and her brand is Cover Me Beautiful by Hakeemah! She was a stylist for a multi-designer showcase featuring modest wear brands from all over the world, including Poplook, Gulshaan, FM Dubai by Fatima Mulla, Zduo Collections, and more! I was helping her out backstage getting all of the outfits ready, matching the accessories, and of course, dressing the models. This was honestly such an amazing experience! I really want to get into styling so this was a great start! Hakeemah is also super sweet so it was wonderful working with her.
Of course, I have to show you my OOTDs from both days!

And of course, with the fashion show, there’s also the big bazaar area with lots of vendors! Honestly this year was much better than last year in terms of vendors! There was so much variety and selection, and truly something for everyone!
Here’s some pics of how the booths were set up!
Modah even had their Chai Bar set up at the Fashion Show, so people could try out some of their amazing drinks. I had a personal favourite – Raspberry Iced Tea! Oh so yummy!
Last but not least, I have to show you what I got in my VIP Goodie Bag!
I hope you enjoyed this blogpost on IMFDF and hope you got to ‘live’ it with me! This year’s festival was honestly such a great experience alhamdulilah and I’m really glad I went!
Thanks again to all of the organizers and everyone that made this event possible!
That’s all from me this time! Speak to you soon!
